9 Fall Festivals Near the Lake of the Ozarks



It's difficult to make yourself leave the area in the Summer when you live in a house at the Lake of the Ozarks.  Autumn is every bit as beautiful, but it's a great time to jump in the car and take a day trip. Here are 9 Fall festivals close-to-home that celebrate this gorgeous season.  




Sept. 16-Oct. 31 - National Harvest & Cowboy Festival, Branson

Silver Dollar City is known for its incredible festivals year-round.  This Fall the amusement park will be filled with over 125 visiting craftsmen from the "Four Corners of the United States."  There will be live crafting demonstrations, live music, stunt shows, and the incredibly popular Western Barn Dance.  All of this is in addition to the amazing rides, shows, and food that is always available at this family-fun destination. 



Sept. 25-27 - The 9th Annual Roots, Blues, & BBQ Festival, Columbia

Stephens Lake Park is the home to this entertaining festival.  It features more than 30 artists that represent the musical genres of blues, gospel, country, folk, bluegrass, rock, and soul.  Concerts will be happening all weekend long on two different stages. You can also get a taste of the most mouth-watering BBQ from local and regional vendors.   


Sept. 25 & 26 - The 15th Annual Oktoberfest, Jefferson City

Dunklin Street in Jefferson City, also known as "Munichburg in the Southside," is the site for this celebration.  The Old Munichburg Association hosts this annual event that includes live entertainment, brats & hot dogs, the Muenchberg Beer & Wine Garden, craft & food vendors, kids' activities, and the Mid-Mo Old Car Club Show.  It is also home to Missouri's largest dachshund derby and costume contest.  

Sept. 26 - The 28th Annual Turkey Festival, Eldon

This festival brings in quite a crowd.  It features a parade, live music, vendor booths all up and down Main Street, and incredible food including giant turkey legs. There is also a car show, figure-eight derby and demolition derby to enjoy.  


1st Four Weekends in October - Oktoberfest, Hermann

The town known for its many fantastic wineries celebrates its German Heritage throughout the month of October.  You will find something to enjoy in every area around town, including live German music, dancing, and the most delicious food.  



Oct. 3 - The 35th Annual Old Tyme Apple Festival, Versailles

This award-winning festival brings 1,000's of people to town.  This year's theme is "Jumpin' and Livin' in the 1940's."  You will experience pie baking contests, a fun zone for the kids, vendor booths, a parade, and a fiddler's competition.



Oct. 10 - The 30th Annual Harbor Hop, Lake of the Ozarks

Fall is still an excellent time to get out on the water, and this season has a special beauty all its own.  Travel by boat to over 40 locations on the lake collecting cards for your poker hand.  Winning hands will receive great prizes, and everyone gets an awesome day out on the water before it gets too cold.  



Oct. 10 & 11 - Pumpkin Festival, Hartsburg

Pumpkins are the reason for this giant celebration.  Hartsburg has been called "The Garden Spot of Boone County."  It's fun for the entire family with crafts, food, and lots and lots of pumpkins.



Oct. 16 & 17 - Camden County Fall Festival & Apple Butter Days, Linn Creek
The tastes of homemade apple butter and homemade apple pie really make it feel like Fall.  This event also features craft demos and booths, a quilt raffle, and a chili & soup lunch.    


These 9 festivals are perfect for a road trip not too far from home.  It's a beautiful season with lots of fun happening all around.  When you buy a home at the Lake of the Ozarks, you are always in the center of all kinds of festive and exciting things to do.
