Four Seasons of Lake Life

The changing seasons bring a bit of excitement for what’s to come. Maybe a little disappointment at the ending of such a fun one - but we also really love the fall season at the Lake as well. If you’re considering buying a home at the Lake of the Ozarks, but you aren’t sure what it’s like the rest of the year, here are a few insights into the yearly lake life!

Fall at the Lake

This season is filled with beauty and peace. It’s a time of year at the Lake where things start to quiet down just a little after the summer rush. There are still plenty of activities to participate in, events to join, and places to go - you just don’t have the same crowd to compete with. Fall is a great time to get in those golf games, as the weather has cooled down just enough to make a day on the course magnificent. It’s also a great time to pull out the boat and go fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks, or just cruise the main channel enjoying the sights.

Winter at the Lake

The Lake of the Ozarks has a fairly mild winter. We’ll experience a few winter storms, or get some fun snow days a few times - but not many! In fact, winter is so mild around here, that there are many who don’t winterize their boats because they plan on taking it out through the winter. While the weather may be a little too cold to enjoy a pleasure cruise, it’s perfect for those who want to catch the “big one.” We have many different types of fish in the Lake of the Ozarks, and through the winter we’ll have several fishing competitions to prove it. Winter is  quieter than summer, but it’s still filled with great events, fun local community days, and more.

Spring at the Lake

The area blooms in spring! As you make your way through the last days of winter, you'll start to notice that things are getting green. Then, just like that, one day you’ll be driving through the Ozark hills and they will be covered with leaves and celebrating spring. Spring time is such a wonderful time around here because it’s when the Lake activity starts to pick back up as people are planning spring vacations, or getting ready for summer ones. The temperatures can be mild, and the views are beautiful!

Summer at the Lake

We probably don’t have to tell you much about this season. It’s probably what drew you to having a home at the Lake of the Ozarks, to begin with! Who wouldn’t want to live a permanent lake life? You could take your boat out every evening, enjoying fun water activities on the weekends, and invite friends and family out for fun vacations. The weather is great, the lakefront restaurants are all open and ready to serve up incredible food, and the area seems to come alive.
