Summer isn't winding down yet! Your trusted and experienced real estate agent at the Lake of the Ozarks is back again with another monthly events blog. I'm here to keep you informed on the fantastic events that are happening each month to help you stay engaged in this great community. Whether you're a local or looking to relocate to the Lake of the Ozarks, you can't miss these awesome August events!
THE GREAT BAGNELL DAM DUCK DROP
August 4th - 10 AM-1 PM
The Family Fun Zone opens up at 10 AM for kids of all ages! Come down to the Lake Ozark Campground & RV Park below the dam for games, a dunking booth, bounce houses, food, and lots of prizes. Duck Drop tickets are available for purchase at the Fun Zone until 11 AM for $5 each. Join the chance to win $5000!
At NOON, the helicopter will release the ducks into the Osage River. The first 11 ducks to cross the finish line will receive prizes.
HARPER CHAPEL BACK TO SCHOOL CARNIVAL
August 5th - 1 PM-4 PM
Held in the Harper Chapel Church parking lot, this Back to School Carnival will be a blast. Who can pass up free family fun for all ages?! There will be free school supplies giveaways for children as well as snacks, games, bounce houses, and face painting. Come to join in on the fun!
August 11th - 2 PM-5 PM
It's the 25th Annual Midwest Wine & Brew Festival! Hosted by the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, this fun event is easily one of Missouri's most recognizable summer festivals. Your favorite wineries and breweries from across the state will provide samples of their best to guests. Enjoy the live entertainment while trying a few new drinks!
BIG HEAD TODD AND THE MONSTERS
August 11th - Doors open at 6 PM / Show starts at 7 PM
Ozarks Amphitheater proudly presents Big Head Todd and the Monsters! The Ozarks Amphitheater was recently voted #5 of the best Live Music Venues in Missouri - and we're outdoors! Big Head Todd and the Monsters is a versatile rock band that is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. You won't want to miss this awesome performance.
30TH ANNUAL LAKE OF THE OZARKS SHOOTOUT
August 25th-August 26th
The annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is once again held at Captain Ron's Bar & Grill and the 33MM-34.5MM. Top powerboat racers from across the country will race, topping 200 MPH! This is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest. Not only is this a fun event, it's also a charitable one! The proceeds brought in will go to benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams and other charitable organizations. Shootout events will be happening all week leading up to the races. Events include R/C Mini Powerboats Shootout, Golf Tournament, Treasure Hunt, Shootout Strip Street Party, Vendor Villages, Live & Silent Auctions, Poker Runs, Live Entertainment and much more. A CONTAGIOUS LABOR DAY WEEKEND
August 31st-September 2nd - 8 PM-1 AM
To finish out the month, the band Contagious will be performing at the Horny Toad Entertainment Complex! The party will continue through Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. Check out St. Louis' ultimate party band here at the Lake of the Ozarks and at www.clubcontagious.com.
