Fun Fall Events Happening at the Lake of the Ozarks

The Lake area is full of fun and adventure all year long.  It's a lot more than just a Summer vacation destination.  When you own a home at the Lake of the Ozarks, you can find all kinds of activities and events to keep you busy.  There are lots of gorgeous places to view all of the beauty of the colorful leaves, and Halloween offers plenty of family-friendly fun.

State Parks

There are 2 spacious state parks close to home for Lake area residents.  Lake of the Ozarks State Park and Ha Ha Tonka State Park feature lots of hiking trails and picnic areas for visitors to enjoy.  You will find amazing Fall color in the trees and on the ground everywhere that you look.  The view just driving to and from all of the towns in the area offer very similar landscapes to enjoy.

Pumpkin Patches

I have talked about adding seasonal curb appeal to your home by adding pumpkins and mums before.  There are a couple of places around the Lake that have these for sale in addition to a lot of fun activities for both the young and young at heart.

  • Hy-Vee Hallow in Osage Beach
Hy-Vee fills a section of their parking lot every year with Fall activities and great photo opportunities.  You will find a straw bale maze, a corn pit, seesaws, and a hay mountain to climb.  Let the kids run and play, then pick up your pumpkins, mums, and large squash to decorate with.  You can even get your Halloween candy while you're there.
  • Mecca Farms in Roach
This farm is open to the public on Saturdays & Sundays in October from 10 am - 5 pm.  There are lots of farm animals to pet and feed, a corn crib, face painting, a small corn maze, a big slide, and concessions.  When you are ready to get your pumpkin, venture out into the field and pick your own.
